This habit is costing businesses a whopping $7.3 billion each year because of lost work and adds up to 24.6 million days off. Even if you don't count mental health days, 68 percent of Australians still say they've faked being sick. These numbers come from a new survey by comparison website iSelect. They asked 1000 Australians why they pretend to be sick. The top reason people fake sick days is lack of sleep.
