ABC Riverina
ABC Riverina is a local radio station part of the ABC network, located in Wagga Wagga, and it serves the Riverina and Murrumbidgee Irrigation Area in New South Wales. It reaches various towns, including Griffith, Goulburn, Leeton, and Hay. The station's history dates back to 1931 when it was first known as 2CO, operating from Albury with an AM transmission mast near Corowa. It initially focused on broadcasting to south-west New South Wales and north-east Victoria. Until 1987, the station only provided an opt-out service in Wagga Wagga. Following this, new studios and transmitters were established, leading to a division in the region's coverage. 2CO was then adapted to cater specifically to the Riverina area, while the Albury station transitioned to Wodonga and was rebranded as 3MRR, which is now known as ABC Goulburn Murray.

Australia is now in the thick of a federal election cycle, the United States just came out of one and in New Zealand, the fallout from the last national election has brought into focus a part of the political machine often out of view. To a voter's naked eye, the impact of think tanks and so-called research centres on public policy and any public vote might be imperceptible.

In Samoa, the controversial practice of people being banished from their villages has been highlighted by recent media reports. Last week, Samoa Observer reported a matai chief was controversially banished from the village of Fausaga for making rude social media comments against a senior chief. In another unrelated report, a man was found by Samoa's Land court to have been wrongfully banished after he testified in a police case against a politician.
