Lilly Reale, a defender for Gotham FC and a native of Hingham, was named to the 25-player US women’s national soccer team training camp roster ahead of three upcoming international friendlies. The call-up is Reale’s first to the senior national team, though she has previously represented the US at the U-17, U-20, and U-23 levels. The US will face Ireland on June 26 in Colorado and June 29 in Cincinnati, followed by a matchup against Canada in Washington, D.C., on July 2.

The Boston Fleet lost their captain to PWHL expansion, and now, they’re losing their coach, too. Courtney Kessel is stepping down from her post to become the head coach of the Princeton women’s hockey team, according to a team source. The source spoke on the condition of anonymity because the deal has not yet been finalized. Kessel will return to Princeton after she spent four seasons as an assistant coach for the Tigers from 2019-23.

The Boston Fleet lost their captain to PWHL expansion, and now, they may be losing their coach, too. Fleet coach Courtney Kessel is reportedly stepping down from her post to become the head coach of Princeton women’s hockey, according to multiple reports. Kessel spent four seasons as an assistant coach a Princeton from 2019-2023. The head coaching position opened when former Princeton coach Cara Gardner-Morey vacated the role to become the general manager of the PWHL’s Vancouver expansion team.
