CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Roughly 3,000 people are without power in the Charlotte area after storms Thursday night and heavy rain Friday morning, according to the Duke Energy outages map. WCNC Charlotte Meteorologist Chris Mulcahy said some rain totals from Uptown Charlotte and areas immediately south have seen 2-5 inches of rain, which prompted a Considerable Flash Flood Warning Thursday evening. Most of the outages are caused by fallen trees or tree limbs damaging Duke Energy equipment.
