Operating as the beating heart of American politics, D.C. cannot seem to think about anything other than its day job—especially when it comes to entertainment.

From Jan. 25 through 28, one D.C. theatre bearing a striking resemblance to Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre presented four shows inspired by the Bard’s works. Hosted by the Folger Shakespeare Library, The Reading Room Festival offered a variety of talks and events over the course of four days, with each day headlined by a new show.
