PORT ST. LUCIE − It was all about the ladybugs on Earth Day, April 22 at Chesterfield Academy Preschool. The pretty critters are actually beetles and come in many different colors and patterns. Most familiar in North America is the seven-spotted ladybug, with its shiny, red-and-black body. They are harmless to humans and eat plant-eating pests, according to nationalgeographic.com. The children spent time learning about ladybugs and how they benefit the environment.
