CARSON CITY — The Nevada Supreme Court has unanimously ruled in favor of Gov. Joe Lombardo’s effort to dismiss sanctions imposed by the state’s ethics commission, sending the case back to a lower court. It’s the latest development in the yearslong saga related to Lombardo’s use of his Clark County sheriff’s uniform and badge while running for governor in 2022. The high court’s Wednesday ruling does not absolve Lombardo of wrongdoing, but it opens the door for a dismissal of the case down the line.

The State of Nevada will pay more than $753,000 in court-ordered fines for delays in providing criminal defendants with mental health care at a psychiatric facility in Sparks. The Nevada Board of Examiners - composed of the governor, attorney general and secretary of state - signed off on the payment Tuesday after a Washoe County district court judge in April held the state in contempt for failing to provide timely treatment to criminal defendants deemed mentally unfit to stand trial.

RT @tabitha_mueller: Whoever is dropping veto messages at 5 p.m., please stop.

Not every day you see a Republican governor vetoing a voter ID bill. From @tabitha_mueller and me: https://t.co/x6QNKCn7M8

Statement from AFSCME (state workers union) after Gov. Joe Lombardo signed the bill to fund union agreements, including a bonus and 1% annual cost of living raise. It doesn't include 3% raise that the union had bargained for. https://t.co/Ozhyel1ALe
