After initially getting approval eight years ago, O’Reilly Auto Parts has reapplied with the City of Franklin to build a new facility along 27th Street. O’Reilly Auto Parts is proposing a 7,228-square-foot building with 25 parking spaces at 7251 S. 27th St. City documents note O’Reilly has owned the property for years, applying for and receiving site plan and special use approval in 2017.

An Oak Creek man has pleaded guilty to homicide by driving intoxicated in connection with a crash in Cudahy that killed a local teacher. Troy Vaillancourt, 28, was facing the felony charge for allegedly driving drunk and causing an accident that took the life of St. Francis teacher Michelle Engman on Dec. 6, 2024. Vaillancourt changed his plea to guilty June 9 as part of a plea agreement, according to online court records. He initially pleaded not guilty in December 2024.

A former St. Francis school resource officer was sentenced to jail time and probation after pleading guilty to recording a teen girl changing in his office. Dimitri Kamolov pleaded guilty as part of a plea agreement in April to one felony count of invading privacy with a surveillance device of someone under 18 years old, online court records show.
