I've lost count of how many times I've been to Hamilton, but every time I go, I’m reminded why I can't get enough of it. Sure, it's known for its steel mills and gritty, industrial history, but to me and many others, Hamilton is something else entirely. If you're looking for a day trip that combines art, nature and a bit of mystery, head to The Tree Museum in Gravenhurst. Just two hours from Toronto, this hidden gem is unlike any gallery you've ever visited. The Tree Museum's collection is spread out over nearly 1.5 km of woodland trails, just art and nature blending together in the best possible way.

As someone always on the lookout for new hiking spots around Toronto, I recently stumbled upon a lesser-known gem: Coldstream Conservation Area in Middlesex Centre. A couple of hours west of the city, this conservation area proved to be the perfect day trip destination, close enough to make it back in time for dinner, but far enough to feel like a proper escape into nature. I arrived in the morning, coffee in hand, and was immediately struck by the quiet beauty of the place.

By ERIN HORROCKS-POPEA growing number of East Toronto families are banding together to push back against the pressure to give kids smartphones; and their collective voice is being heard across the country. At Adam Beck Junior Public School on Scarborough Road, more than 110 families have signed on to Unplugged Canada, a new initiative that encourages parents to delay giving smartphones and social media access to children until at least age 14.
