Alcohol sales Both the Beer Store and LCBO locations will be closed on Good Friday and Easter Sunday. Malls The Toronto Premium Outlets are open but will close at 7 p.m. both April 18 and April 20. Milton Mall will be closed both days as well.

An Oakville trustee had a nation-wide lobby group in her corner but was once again unsuccessful at bringing back a controversial policy. At the April 8 policy meeting, Helena Karabela attempted to add an amendment to a Halton Catholic District School Board (HCDSB) policy that would restrict fundraising for any group, including subsidiaries, affiliates and associates that in any way supports abortion, contraception, euthanasia or human embryonic stem cell research.

It’s a cleanup with a lot of local history. Milton Good Neighbours Day returns to the community on May 3 with hundreds of local residents coming together to clean up their parks and streets. This year’s event already has roughly 600 people signed up to take part. Previous years have had over 1,000 volunteers. Alex Wellstead, an organizer with Milton Good Neighbours Day, said he believes the popularity of the event is due to its pure connection to the community.
