Anyone who's been in Boston on Marathon Monday knows that the biggest race of them all can cause some big traffic headaches. The B.A.A. lists some of the traffic impacts on its website, including estimated times when the race will pass through, but leaves it to individual cities and towns to communicate specific closures. Tragedy struck a distinguished Massachusetts family and two others this week when a private plane carrying six people crashed in upstate New York on Saturday, killing all on board. Four of the six were members of the Groff-Saini family, from Weston: Dr. Michael Groff and Dr. Joy Saini and their children Karenna and Jared. Also aboard were Karenna's boyfriend, James Santoro, and Jared's partner, Alexia Couyutas Duarte, according to Santoro's father, John Santoro.

Multiple local universities have reported the visa revocations of international students and other community members in recent days, and students say it's making them fearful. UMass Amherst, UMass Boston, Harvard University, Emerson College and Northeastern University have all reported instances of student visas being revoked, though the exact reasons for them were not immediately clear.

With St. Patrick's Day celebrations underway, Boston police are reminding people to look out for drugged drinks or other suspicious behaviors. This is a message the Boston Police Department gives out multiple times a year. In 2023, there were 107 reports of drinks being drugged in Boston.
