Every weekend since March 1 has been wet in Boston. EVERY weekend. I’m not sure how we got on the bad side of Mother Nature, but we’re crying uncle! It’s only fitting that the final weekend of spring has wet weather too... right? Preceding the wet Saturday will be enjoyable hours throughout Friday. In fact, like Wednesday's, Friday’s warmth will have a summer-like taste to it. The day starts sunny and in the 50s. With a southwest wind, afternoon highs are near 75 degrees throughout the metro area.

May Gray is gone, warmer and drier days are on the way. After passing showers Saturday morning, partly cloudy skies still linger, but the sun is noticeable throughout the holiday weekend. This, along with the wind from the northwest, will bring high temperatures into the mid-60s Sunday. Temperatures are expected to finally climb to "normal" on Memorial Day. The day typically viewed as the unofficial start to summer will in fact usher in warmer weather throughout the final few days of May.

Today's the day. An unusual May nor'easter is set to wallop New England, providing a soaking before the Memorial Day holiday weekend with weather more commonly associated with fall and winter. Nor'easters usually arrive in the end of fall and winter and bring high winds, rough seas and precipitation in the form of rain or snow. This nor'easter could bring wind gusts over 40 mph and up to 2 inches of rain in some areas. Snow is even possible at high elevations. NBC10 Boston has issued a First Alert.

Wet weather seems to be a thing reserved for weekends in Boston. So we'll leave it in the past and focus on the days ahead. The mild morning has turned hot this afternoon with temperatures more in line with June. We expect a mainly dry day with 70s for highs in Boston, and a few mid-70s across Metrowest and 128. This is a testament to the southerly winds that are overhead, and not too breezy today. There's an early window for a quick and light east wind today, but the warm up is already in progress.
