A road in northern Hinds County is closed because of emergency repairs being made to a bridge.The signs immediately went up on Lanewood Road in Pocahontas. The road is closed between Greens Crossing Road and Joe Coker Road. Lanewood Road runs parallel to Highway 49.Hinds County Public Works doesn't have a timeline for how long the bridge repair will take.

( WAPT) - Attorneys representing Mississippi's longest-serving death row inmate filed new motions Thursday before the Mississippi Supreme Court. The move comes two weeks after the Court set an execution date for Richard Jordan, who will turn 79 on May 25. His attorneys want the Court to rehear his case and vacate his death sentence, or send the issue to a circuit court.
