The torched vehicle believed to have been used in transporting stolen livestock Kirinyaga residents on Tuesday lynched a suspected cattle thief and torched a vehicle believed to have been used in transporting a stolen cow. The owner of the cow, Njue Gatune, said the animal was stolen from his Kathirathiru village home in Kirinyaga Central at 2am. He told reporters he was woken up by a distress call by members of the public who claimed that livestock thieves had struck.

Joyce Wanjiru planting rice for a living at Ng’othi village in Kirinyaga County Joyce Wanjiru’s dream was to be a medical practitioner and turn pain and suffering of the ailing into joy and smiles. When she joined Ng’othi Primary School in Mwea, Kirinyaga, she worked tirelessly towards attaining that goal. She passed her KCPE exam and joined St Chavara CMI Girls Secondary School in Machakos, where she attained a mean grade of B+ in her KCSE exam in 2022.

The Kerugoya-Kutus bulk water Project that has helped boost supply to about 400,000 Kirinyaga residents About 400,000 Kirinyaga residents now receive clean water regularly, ending rationing. They get continuous water supply for 24 hours unlike previously when they enjoyed water for 18 hours per day. This followed the completion of the Kerugoya-Kutus bulk water project undertaken by the national and county governments.

Banana farmers prepare the produce for market in Karinga village in Kirinyaga County Kirinyaga farmers say forming a marketing group has enabled them fetch better prices for their bananas as well as start value addition of the produce. Karinga Banana Growers chairperson Freciah Kinyua says the group formed in 2010, brought together over 30 farmers from Karinga village in Kirinyaga central, Kirinyaga county.
