Daily Monitor

The Daily Monitor is the top independent daily newspaper in Uganda. It shares its name with the Saturday Monitor and Sunday Monitor, both of which are published by Monitor Publications Limited. The newspaper has an impressive online audience of more than 1,000,000 readers. Originally launched in 1994 as The Monitor, it was rebranded as the Daily Monitor in June 2005. The publication emphasizes that being privately owned ensures the independence of its editors and reporters.
