    DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — This year’s Dayton Air Show headliner has arrived in the Miami Valley. 2 NEWS was at the Dayton International Airport as the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds arrived on Wednesday, alongside several other performers for this weekend’s air show. While the Dayton Air Show featured the Air Force’s Blue Angels during its 50th show last year, this year will feature the Thunderbirds — six F-16 Fly Falcons.

    DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — After a string of accidental shootings, Dayton police are putting out a call to reinforce firearm awareness. Over the last two weeks, one person had died and two others were injured in shootings the Dayton Police Department say could have been prevented. Two out of three of these recent shootings were the result of individuals handling guns while intoxicated, and the other stemmed from incorrectly storing a firearm.

    MIAMISBURG, Ohio (WDTN) — Another local city has made the call to ban marijuana sales, following dozens of other jurisdictions within the Miami Valley. Miamisburg city leaders decided during Tuesday’s city council meeting that selling and growing the plant would be illegal, effective immediately. Banned marijuana sales has the city of Miamisburg divided. While city leaders tell 2 NEWS this was a long time coming, and some residents agree, others say the decision was misinformed.

    DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — Plans for a brand new event center were unveiled Tuesday afternoon in downtown Dayton. The Dragons Diamond Club, located at Day Air Ballpark, will open to the public in the fall. According to the Dayton Dragons, the venue will be year-round, and can welcome up to 200 seated guests per event. A batting cage and 110 new mid-level seats connected to the space are also being constructed.

    MARYSVILLE, Ohio (WDTN) — Honda leadership arrived in Marysville to reveal their latest and largest partnership yet: as a founding sponsor for the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles. “I’m thrilled to announce Honda as the official automotive partner of the U.S. official Olympic and Paralympic teams,” said Toshihiro Mibe, Honda CEO. The announcement was shared just across the road from Honda’s first American manufacturing plant, constructed in 1979.
