DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — Travelers at and around Dayton International Airport could notice an increased presence of first responders on Wednesday. Until 1 p.m., Dayton International Airport is conducting an “full-scale” emergency exercise to prepare for what would occur if an actual emergency would occur in the future. Police officers, firefighters, hospitals and additional emergency organizations are taking part in the exercise.

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — A man is facing charges after allegedly shooting and killing his mother on Tuesday. The Wilmington Police Department reported Kyler Whitt, 33, has been charged with murder. Around 7:49 p.m. on April 15, someone called 911 reporting gunfire to dispatchers. Authorities arrived to the 1100 block of Brownberry Drive in Wilmington and found a person who had sustained a gunshot wound. The person shot, identified by police as Kelley Blazer, 55, was pronounced dead at the scene.

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — A member of the Grand Ole Opry announced she is making two stops in the Miami Valley. Rhonda Vincent, known as the ‘Queen of Bluegrass,’ will perform at Sorg Opera House in Middletown at 8 p.m. on April 25. She returns to the area July 19 at the Greene County Expo Center for an 8:30 p.m. concert. Apple Music lists “Fishers of Men,” “I’m Not Over You,” “There’s a Record Book” and more as songs Vincent is best known for.

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — Plans are in place to open a new Italian restaurant in an outgoing burger spot near the Mall at Fairfield Commons. The Miami Valley Restaurant Association confirmed Tuesday that CBCB Bar and Grill, located at 2495 Commons Blvd. in Beavercreek, is closing for good.
