Moses Young III, 35, was convicted of voluntary manslaughter and a felony gun possession offense, earning him a partially suspended sentence of 8 years followed by 2 years of probation.

A Beaufort man was sent to prison for last year’s late-night stickup of a Parker’s Kitchen on north-end Hilton Head Island. Trevor Lamont Hicks, 23, received a 6-year prison sentence under South Carolina’s Youthful Offender Act for the felony conviction of armed robbery. Inmates sentenced under the YOA program can be conditionally released at any time, typically after a 1-year imprisonment. No shots were fired during the May 27, 2024, incident at Parker’s #90, located at 430 William Hilton Parkway.

Beaufort County deputies arrested a suspect after a fatal shooting at a “Sunday Funday” gathering in the Sheldon area. Unique Stinson Ford, 32, was charged Monday night with murder, aggravated breach of peace and a felony gun possession offense, according to the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office. Gunfire erupted at the party around 8 p.m. Sunday, killing 33-year-old Rashaun Snell of Yemassee. His obituary or information on a funeral service had not yet been made public.

A Hilton Head Island man was charged with breaking into a home in the Spanish Wells area early Sunday morning, only dashing out when he awoke the family’s 11-year-old daughter. He was arrested after returning to the house about 10 minutes later. Joseph Da’Jon Bernard Robinson, 26, was charged Sunday morning with first-degree burglary, a felony punishable by 15 years to life in prison.
