    State troopers in Beaufort County continued to search for two cars that left the scene after fatally striking a pedestrian near the Broad River Bridge late last month. The deadly collision happened around 11:50 p.m. April 27 on the portion of S.C. 170 (Okatie Highway) that crosses Lemon Island, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol. Ridgeland resident Dontay Frost, 39, died at the scene, according to the Beaufort County Coroner’s Office.

    A Beaufort-area teenager was arrested late last month for allegedly stealing an unlocked car from a Food Lion parking lot, crashing it nearby and running away from police at the collision site, all while “extremely intoxicated.”Beaufort County deputies were called around 10 p.m. April 29 to the Laurel Bay Food Lion off U.S. 21 (Trask Parkway), where a customer reported his red SUV had been stolen while he was inside the store.
