The Organised Labour in Cross River has directed state civil servants to return to work on Wednesday. The directive is contained in a statement issued by the state Chairman of the Trade Union Congress, Mr Monday Ogbodum, and made available to newsmen on Tuesday. Ogbodum stated that the directive followed the success of the two-day warning strike over the non-implementation of the new minimum wage by the government.

Police Command in Delta says five passengers have died in a boat mishap at Bennett Island in Gbaramatu Kingdom in Warri South-West Local Government of the state. Spokesman of the command, SP Bright Edafe made this known to newsmen on Tuesday in Warri, Delta. Edafe added that six other persons were injured in the accident, 19 persons were rescued while one person was still missing.
