The Skibo Road bridge over All American Freeway will undergo repairs starting May 29. Lane closures on the freeway will occur several times a week from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m., lasting into August. Work on the bridge deck will restrict traffic flow on Skibo Road, with up to two lanes closed at a time outside of peak hours.

A project to preserve the life of the Skibo Road bridge, which spans All American Freeway near Cross Creek Mall, is expected to begin in the coming days, according to the N.C. Department of Transportation. Work underneath the bridge could start as early as May 29 and makes it necessary to close one lane in each direction on the freeway several times per week from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m., the NCDOT said.
