Two suspected members of the Cote D’Ivoire human trafficking routes have been arrested and two victims rescued during a raid of a mansion in Abuja. The raid was carried out by operatives of the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP), following a revelation by social media activist, Vincent Martins Otse about children and teenagers trafficked to Cote D’Ivoire for sexual exploitation.

Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola, yesterday directed the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) to commence the process for the disbursement of the Cabotage Vessel Financing Fund (CVFF), which could see indigenous ship owners accessing more than $400 million in strategic funding. NIMASA, in alignment with the minister’s directive, has immediately issued a Marine Notice inviting eligible Nigerian shipping companies to apply.

Residents of Ogun, Edo, Delta, Bayelsa, Cross River and Akwa Ibom should brace for a three-day heavy rainfall beginning from today. Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) which made the prediction, added that there would be light-moderate heavy rainfall in Lagos, Ondo, Ekiti, Imo, Abia and a few other states. The agency, in a bulletin public yesterday, hinted that flash floods might be witnessed in the states where moderate-heavy rainfall is forecasted.

NCAA’s warning came following complaints about airlines selling tickets to passengers, airlifting them halfway to their destinations, and deporting them back to Nigeria.
