    Residents across North Halton are invited to lace up their walking shoes for the annual Hike for Hospice. Taking place on Saturday, May 3, the Hike for Hospice fundraiser is raising money in support of the Townsend Smith Foundation’s efforts to build North Halton’s first residential hospice. The event will feature two- and five-kilometre routes at three locations, including Prospect Park in Acton, Norval United Church in Georgetown and Milton Community Sports Park.

According to the Ontario Heritage Act, when a property or district is designated, it gains public recognition and is protected from demolition or inappropriate changes, helping ensure its heritage features are preserved for future generations. The town posted the properties March 7 and noted that interested parties have 30 days — until April 6 — to submit objections.
