    A mum of five who was killed after being hit by a car outside a Halifax pub has been described as a 'great, vibrant character' by her heartbroken family. Sue Davis, 50, from Halifax, died after she was hit outside the Flying Pig pub by a burgundy Mazda 5 TS2 just after 1am on Tuesday, April 15. The car was travelling along Crag Lane, Wheatley towards Halifax and did not stop at the scene. Two teenage boys, aged 15 and 18, were later arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

    A man has been stabbed in a busy town centre this afternoon as horrified shoppers looked on. South Yorkshire Police and paramedics raced to the scene outside Old Town Hall in Rotherham at 12.09pm today. There, they found a 51-year-old man who had been stabbed. He suffered serious injuries and was rushed to hospital where he remains undergoing treatment. He had been stabbed in the leg but his injuries are not thought to be life-threatening or life-altering.
