Inverness-based Gaelic arts organisation Fèisean nan Gàidheal has appointed a double-gold winner at the National Mòd as its new chief executive at its helm. Calum Alex Macmillan, who hails from Lewis and has been based in the Highland capital for many years, will take up the position early in June. He has worked with Fèisean nan Gàidheal for many years, first as Gaelic officer and then taking up the role as development manager in 2010.

An Inverness-based choir is set to return for a new performance in aid of a local charity for children with additional support needs. For their summer concert on May 17, the 70-singers-strong Christian choir Acclaim will perform at Free North Church for a fundraising concert to help Special Needs Action Project. Choir leader Elaine Kirkham said they are looking forward to the event and to helping such a worthy cause.
