A Nairn care home has teamed up with an Inverness youth football team in a bid to strengthen intergenerational links. Care home provider Meallmore, who runs St Olaf, has become a sponsor for Merkinch-based Clachnacuddin Youth Development Team on behalf of the Cawdor Road-based care home. As part of the partnership, Meallmore has sponsored an advertising board on the pitch side at Grant Street Park — home of the club since the ground opened in 1886.

A 36-year-old woman has been charged after a dog attacked a 10-year-old girl in Alness. The incident took place yesterday (Tuesday, April 22) at around 7pm in the Kirkside area. A Highland bus firm’s boss is set to take on a gruelling running challenge for an epilepsy charity after her husband was diagnosed with the condition. Gayle McEwan, transport manager at D&E Coaches, is getting ready to take part in the London Marathon on Sunday in aid of the Epilepsy Society — which provides support and funds life-changing research for those affected. “For me, this marathon isn’t just a personal milestone,” she explained.
