A Lockport man has been charged with the 2024 murder of his wife. About 4:30 p.m. Thursday, Eric Strasser, 62, was taken to the Will County jail on a charge of the first-degree murder of Rosy Strasser, 51, who was found dead from a gunshot wound in a bathroom at a residence in the 900 block of McKinley Court on May 1, 2024. Eric Strasser was the only person who was present at the time officers arrived, according to a statement from the Lockport Police Department.

A Joliet man has pleaded guilty to concealing the death of a woman in Crest Hill and he was sentenced to serve 50% of a roughly six-year prison sentence for that offense. On March 26, Kelvanti Lawrence, 31, pleaded guilty to concealment of a death and unlawful possession of a weapon by felon as part of a plea deal. After Jeanie Bresley, 44, overdosed on drugs and died, Lawrence had moved her body to a different location on Sept. 17, 2023, according to prosecutors.

A 65-year-old man died in a single-vehicle crash in Frankfort where the vehicle struck multiple fire hydrants and a tree, police said. About 11:30 p.m. Wednesday, officers responded to the crash in the 21600 block of Wolf Road, according to a statement from the Frankfort Police Department. Paramedics found a single vehicle that struck multiple fire hydrants and a tree, police said. The driver was Leonard Hawrysio, 65, of New Lenox, according to the Will County Coroner’s Office.

A 54-year-old man has died from a fire Wednesday in Joliet Township. Firefighters with the East Joliet Fire Protection District responded to the fire about 4:15 p.m. Wednesday in the 500 block of Pontiac Street. Firefighters learned there was “one occupant still inside the house,” according to a statement from East Joliet Fire Protection District. That occupant was Leonard Younge, 54, who died as a “result of a residential fire,” according to the Will County Coroner’s Office.
