Introduction Arginine methylation is a post translational modification (PTM) that regulates many cellular processes including signal transduction, mRNA splicing, transcriptional control, DNA repair and protein translocation.1 The protein arginine methyltransferases (PRMTs) are a family of proteins responsible for the transfer of a methyl group from S-adenosyl methionine (SAM) to the guanidium group of arginine residues in protein substrates.
