Jones & Shipp Win Top HonorLaguna Beach released their 19th annual All-Sport Award winners this week, as selected by the Breaker staff for the past school year’s performances. Top honors went to Presley Jones (Girls) and CIF Champ Chase Shipp (Boys), both of whom have garnered 1st Team All-CIF and All-County awards. This year’s Coach of the Year honor went to Andy Thomas for Boys soccer.

The Laguna Beach High School Breakers delivered another impressive season this spring, earning league titles, CIF accolades and top individual honors across multiple sports. BaseballSenior Becker Sybirski led the Breakers in hits and batting average (.424), and appeared in 12 games as a pitcher, posting an 8-1 record with 55.1 innings pitched. The team finished 25-4 and claimed its 11th league pennant in the 87-year history of the program.

Several Laguna Beach High School students were recently awarded scholarships in recognition of their academic achievements, character, and community involvement, thanks to the generous contributions of local donors and organizations. The Laguna Beach High School 2025 Honors Convocation took place on Friday, May 30, at 6 p.m. in the LBHS Quad. The Dr. Steven and Lor Speach Scholarship, valued at $10,000, was awarded to Claudette Basto.

Baseball (25-4)The most successful season in 86 years of Laguna Beach High School baseball ended in the CIF Southern Section top-division playoffs, as the Breakers were eliminated in the round of 16 with a home loss. The team surprised many this spring, consistently finding ways to win in unexpected moments. Several key players are set to return next season, including Jackson Arrasin, Otis Boultinghouse, Lincoln Adams, Dylan Yencho, Parker Moore and Branson Wade.
