Louisiana voters Saturday approved all four constitutional amendments, adding rules on passing the budget, overhauling how local governments handle tax-delinquent properties and changing the makeup of the commission that oversees judicial ethics. Amendment 1 will add five political appointees to the nine-member Judiciary Commission. The House speaker will select two, the Senate president two and the governor one.

After five years heading communications for East Baton Rouge Mayor-President Sharon Weston Broome, Mark Armstrong is headed back to the media industry — this time in Texas. On Wednesday, Armstrong announced his departure from Broome's administration, where he's worked as Chief Communications Officer since 2019. Armstrong said he will be working as morning TV anchor at a local station in Beaumont, Texas, citing a need to be closer to family in the area.
