    N. Maye Luga of Mentor named by Ohio Arts CouncilMENTOR – When Mentor artist N. Maye Luga applied for an Individual Excellence Award from the Ohio Arts Council in September, she had no expectations. Last week, she learned she was chosen. “It’s amazing, I still can’t believe it,” she said. “I’m incredibly honored.”Luga was among 75 artists chosen by the Ohio Arts Council (OAC) for the award, which recognizes outstanding accomplishments by artists in a variety of disciplines.

    MADISON – Residents’ frustrations regarding fading and missing road striping at the I-90 interchange is on ODOT’s to-do list for the near future, whenever the weather allows, according to remarks from Village Administrator Jason Chapman during a Monday, Jan. 27, Madison Village Council meeting. Chapman said township officials are keenly aware of residents’ concerns about the poor visibility of the stripe pattern at the interchange, particularly during bad weather.

    PERRY TOWNSHIP – The Ohio Department of Transportation has committed $176,880 of its 2029 fiscal year funds to help keep up the deck on the bridge over the Grand River on Vrooman Road. In a Monday, Jan. 27, press release, ODOT announced nearly $9 million in grants under its Local Major Bridge Program. This round of funding will go toward modernizing and repairing four local bridges in Franklin, Fairfield, and Hamilton counties, in addition to Vrooman Road, according to the release.
