    N. Maye Luga of Mentor named by Ohio Arts CouncilMENTOR – When Mentor artist N. Maye Luga applied for an Individual Excellence Award from the Ohio Arts Council in September, she had no expectations. Last week, she learned she was chosen. “It’s amazing, I still can’t believe it,” she said. “I’m incredibly honored.”Luga was among 75 artists chosen by the Ohio Arts Council (OAC) for the award, which recognizes outstanding accomplishments by artists in a variety of disciplines.

    CONNEAUT – While going through some of the scrapbooks donated to the Conneaut Area Historical Society, Kathy Warnes, a historian and author, stumbled across a set of striking photographs from the site of a tragic train accident. Seeing that another Conneaut historian, Bob Blickensderfer, had taken the photographs, Warnes decided she needed to tell the tale of the tragedy.
