    The International Air Transport Association (IATA) has revealed that Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) production is expected to double to 2 million tonnes in 2025. However, this will still cover only about 0.7 percent of all airline fuel needs worldwide. IATA’s Director General, Willie Walsh, said this progress is a step in the right direction, but the cost is huge. Producing even this small amount of SAF will add approximately $4.4 billion to the global fuel bill.

    IndiGo has doubled its commitment to the Airbus A350-900, placing a firm order for 30 additional wide-body aircraft. This brings the airline’s total confirmed A350 order to 60. The announcement came on June 2 during the IATA Annual General Meeting in Delhi. IndiGo CEO Pieter Elbers described the move as a “strategic step” in advancing the airline’s long-haul ambitions.     Finnair passengers continue to face major disruptions as the Finnish Aviation Union (IAU) carries out industrial action at Helsinki Airport (HEL).
