Police have launched a manhunt for eight men in connection with multiple charges, including compelled rape, assault, criminal injury, intimidation and kidnapping, at Zanzou nightclub. National police spokesperson Brig Athlenda Mathe said after a call by police for victims to come forward, three victims aged 20, 21, and 22, have since come forward. “The victims allege that the incident happened in January 2023 wherein a dispute arose between the five friends, bouncers and manager of the nightclub.

Mystery surrounds the discovery of a man’s body found floating in the North End Lake with his hands and feet bound together. The grim discovery was made early on Thursday morning. Despite efforts to identify the man, who was dressed in black tracksuit pants and a faded black shirt, police have been unable to determine his identity and are now appealing to the public for assistance.

Police in Gauteng, together with private security companies, rescued a nine-year-old boy who was kidnapped in Laudium, Tshwane. Five suspects, Pakistan and Afghanistan nationals aged between 24 and 37, were arrested. The boy, whose parents are from Afghanistan, was forcefully taken from the home of a friend of his father in Laudium on Tuesday. Police spokesperson Lt-Col Mavela Masondo said the suspects called the parents demanding a ransom.

A mass shooting in Motherwell left four people dead, including a teenage girl, and one wounded on Tuesday night. The horrific murders occurred at about 6.30pm, when three men barged into a Khalendula Street home in NU11 and opened fire. Among the dead were three men, aged between 20 and 25, and a 16-year-old girl, police spokesperson Captain Andre Beetge said. Another victim, aged 24, was left wounded after he was shot in the leg.
