Bryson Tiller of Atlanta's Overtime Elite youth basketball program left Georgia for Lawrence on Jan. 6, hoping to practice with the Kansas Jayhawks second semester of the 2024-25 school year and, in effect, gain a head start on the 2025-26 campaign. Unfortunately, a nagging left ankle injury kept the 6-foot-10, 240-pound, 19-year-old Tiller on the sidelines, ultimately resulting in surgery to repair a bone fracture the first week of March.

Third-year Kansas sophomore guard Elmarko Jackson, who tore the patellar tendon in his left knee during a Bill Self basketball camp scrimmage on June 4, 2024, participated full-go in the Jayhawks' first official practice of the summer session. The practice took place on Monday morning. KU's summer session runs until July 25. "Elmarko is healthy. He's not 100% as far as rhythm, but he'll make a big jump (this year)," Self, KU's 23rd-year hoops coach, said Monday.

Hunter Dickinson told me he's worked out for N.Orleans, Washington, Phoenix, Utah and Philly. Good to hear. Snubbed by Combine, he deserves at least a good look. The NBA, which uses college bball as its free minor league system, IMO should give guys like Mr. Double Double a shot.
