A San Rafael man was arrested Thursday after allegedly committing an armed robbery and trying to escape on a bicycle. Investigators are trying to identify a second robber who eluded police. The crime happened at about 5:30 a.m. at Canal Street and Kerner Boulevard, police Sgt. Justin Graham said. The victim reported that two men with handguns had just robbed him and fled on bikes. The victim had no injuries.
San Rafael police accuse suspect of stalking

A registered sex offender was arrested on allegations of stalking a woman in San Rafael, police said. The incident happened at about 10:30 a.m. Wednesday when the woman was walking to work on Professional Center Parkway near Redwood Highway, San Rafael police Sgt. Justin Graham said. The woman sent a 911 text to authorities and alleged a man was following her. Police arrived to find the suspect standing in the victim’s way to prevent her from passing, Graham said.
Novato increases pay ranges for key vacant posts
