The long-established W G Hamilton community pharmacy at Ballysillan in north Belfast has changed hands for an undisclosed sum. Following a confidential sales process with Karl Clezy, director at specialist business property adviser Christie & Co, it has been sold to first-time buyers, Andrew Crawford and Daniel Cheah. W G Hamilton has been owned and run by Fergus Hamilton for more than 20 years, and ge decided to sell to pursue a partial retirement.

Confidence in Northern Ireland’s economic outlook has deteriorated sharply, according to a survey, with persistent concerns over economic stagnation, rising costs, and government policy. Chartered Accountants Ulster Society surveyed 270 of its members in the north (before President Trump’s tariff plan announcement) and just 8% viewed prospects as ‘good’ or ‘very good’ - a significant drop from last year’s already low figure of 17%.

Belfast IT services provider Kainos saw its shares surge by around 10% in early Monday trading after the company said it expects full-year revenue and profit to meet analyst expectations. In a trading update for the year to the end of March 2025, Kainos said revenues and adjusted profit before tax are anticipated to fall in line with consensus forecasts of £365.6 million and £65.4 million, respectively. The performance was supported by cost discipline and improved growth in the final quarter.
