After allowing four homers in a 12-5 loss Friday, the Huskers were able to even the series by quieting the Terrapin offense. The rubber game will begin at noon Sunday. Three NU pitchers combined to scatter eight hits as Ty Horn went the first six innings to earn his second win this season. Horn allowed six hits, walked two and struck out five in his 92 pitches.

It was a fitting way for Sydney Potter to cap a huge afternoon at the plate. A huge weekend, for that matter. As Creighton looked for a sweep of a Butler team that entered last weekend 10-5 in Big East play, Potter hit an RBI single in the first inning and a two-run homer in the second. When the sophomore first baseman stepped to the plate again in the third inning, the bases were loaded with two outs. The right-handed Potter preceded to hit a grand slam to right center.

Union Omaha continued its march through the U.S. Open Cup with a 1-0 third-round win over San Antonio FC on Tuesday night at Caniglia Field. Union Omaha's fourth-round opponent in the event will be announced Thursday. That match will take place either May 6 or 7. The game's lone goal came from Dion Acoff in the 36th minute. Acoff gathered a long pass from Isidro Martinez just outside the box.

South Dakota State ends this one early beating UNO 14-3 in seven innings. Across town, Xavier defeats Creighton 4-2.

Blake Stenger hit a RBI double in the sixth for UNO, which trails South Dakota State 14-3 entering the seventh.

UNO hit five batters in the top of the fourth inning as South Dakota State scores six runs. SDSU lead is 13-1. Ugly day defensively for the Mavs as they have hit five batters, walked four and made two errors.
