AbstractDuring mitosis, eukaryotic cells cease anterograde trafficking from the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) towards the Golgi. This cessation corresponds with the dispersal of the COPII transport protein, Sec24C, from juxtanuclear ER exit sites (ERES) into a diffusely cytosolic pool. Redistribution of Sec24 paralogs and other core COPII proteins may underlie the mitotic pause in secretion and may be required for the equal inheritance of endomembrane organelles and machinery by both daughter cells.

There is increasing interest in the ergogenic benefit of beta-alanine, which is the precursor to the histidine-containing dipeptide carnosine (β-alanyl-L-histidine), itself shown to have a key role in acid–base regulation during exercise, with other important health-linked roles (such as antioxidant and anti-glycation properties) also posited (Sale et al., 2013).

The National Shipping Company of Saudi Arabia (Bahri) announced today it has finalised a purchase agreement with Evangelos Marinakis-backed Capital Maritime and Trading, to acquire nine very large crude carriers (VLCCs) for a total of US$1Bn.Most of the VLCCs were built in South Korea and have an average age of 5.9 years. These vessels are fitted with scrubbers and equipped with advanced energy efficiency and low-emissions technologies to minimise environmental impact.

Newly renamed Maran Dynasty, previously known as Courageous, is now under the ownership of the Maria Angelicoussis-led entity. The 2016-built 181,000-dwt vessel marks Maran Dry’s first secondhand purchase since 2022, when the company acquired two under-construction LNG dual-fuel Capesize vessels from Anglo Eastern in a resale deal. A year earlier, the Greece-based shipping giant bolstered its fleet with 2017-built Newcastlemax Maran Loyalty (formerly known as Netadola).

Riviera understands the CM Lemos’ affiliate company has placed an order for three Suezmaxes at Japan Marine United Corp’s Tsu shipyard, with deliveries scheduled through 2027. This latest order brings Nereus’ orderbook to six tankers. About two years ago, the company contracted three LR2 tankers at South Korea’s Hyundai, which are scheduled to enter the market in 2025. These LR2s are being built at the Hyundai Vietnam shipyard.
