On September 26, 2024, the US Department of Commerce's Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) issued a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (NPRM) that, when final, would prohibit the sale or import of connected vehicles (and certain related component hardware and software) with a sufficient nexus to either the People's Republic of China (PRC) or Russia.
