If the beautiful White Lotus star Aimee Lou Wood can be mocked on American TV for her charmingly natural British teeth, imagine the daily lives of people with far more extreme facial differences. Actually, there’s no need to imagine because a new Channel 4 series, Love My Face, introduces a whole host of people who society treats differently because of the way they look.

It’s been a busy couple of years on the TV presenting front – a game of musical chairs occasioned by a number of “top talent” departing under their respective clouds. First out of the door was Phillip Schofield, whose “unwise but not illegal” affair with a younger runner on This Morning led to his departure from the daytime talk show in 2023.

Anyone interested in reading an entertaining historical crime novel set in 1890s France, featuring Impressionist painters, Decadent poets and British royalty? Well, you’re in luck, because I’ve written one. I can tell you, however, who weren’t interested in reading An Impression of Murder, and those were the publishing industry’s traditional gatekeepers: literary agents. Most replied to my submitted chapters with a one-line email, many not even with that. Rejection is the norm for aspiring authors.

It’s apparently a brand new series of The Repair Shop – although regular viewers can be forgiven for not noticing. The heirloom-fixing show has been filling its weekly Wednesday night slot since January and it’s all a bit confusing where one series ends and another begins. Or perhaps that’s just me. Either way, it seems the previous series required a spot of restoration itself to remove the presence of the show’s fallen star: Jay Blades.

Never mind The French Connection. My favourite Gene Hackman movie is the 1975 Arthur Penn film Night Moves. Not even mentioned in any of the obits https://t.co/lrpQXyQGZ5
