SUFFOLK, Va. — In late March, Suffolk launched a new task force to crack down on illegal dumping. Now, a little more than two months later, City leaders say they're seeing results. The City of Suffolk is prioritizing its fight against illegal dumping. That's why City Leaders launched an environmental crimes task force in late March to catch offenders and protect local resources. Commonwealth Attorney Narendra Pleas is one of the leaders of the effort and says so far they've seen progress.

SUFFOLK, Va. — The City of Suffolk on Monday activated speed enforcement cameras on Route 58 near the SPSA Interchange Project. It's one step city leaders say they are taking to crack down on speeding in work zones. 13News Now spoke to drivers to find out how they feel about the change and whether they think it'll actually make work zones safer. Katlyn Newcomb said her commute home should take about 30 minutes but usually lasts longer, adding to her frustrations about an already high-traffic area.
