ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — Rochester Police announced on Monday that they have arrested the man who shot and killed Ali Saleh, 30, Sunday evening as Saleh worked behind the counter at Sana’a Food Market at the intersection of Clifford Avenue and Miller Street. Police said Tony C. Brown, 42, approached Saleh at around 6 p.m. and shot him multiple times at close range, possibly in retaliation for an altercation that occurred at the store several days prior involving an associate of Saleh’s.

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) – A portion of Lake Road is blocked off as Police are responding to what appears to be an accident involving a motorcycle Friday night. Webster Police and Monroe County Sheriff’s deputies can be seen responding to the area. Lake road is blocked off between Whiting Road and Park Road. WATERLOO, N.Y. (WROC) — A passenger has died in a two-vehicle car crash on Rt. 414 in Waterloo Friday evening, according to the Seneca County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies confirmed to News 8 the drivers of each vehicle were taken to the hospital for evaluation. A passenger in one of the cars has died. The area of Rt. 414 will be shut down for the next few hours, according to deputies. More information is expected to be released soon.

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — The University of Rochester Medical Center told News 8 it is “closely monitoring” NIH’s announcement it was cutting “indirect costs” for research institutions that receive its grants. According to the Associated Press, the largest funder of biomedical research said “such things as support staff, hazardous waste disposal and the electricity needed to operate sophisticated machinery” would be cut.
