    ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — Rochester Police and the Rochester Fire Department blocked off an area near the Ford Street Bridge Friday afternoon as they worked to recover a man in the Genesee River. Officers told News 8 a man in his 30s fell into the edge of the river and was recovered. RPD noted no malicious intent is suspected. News 8 crews also noticed the Scuba Team on scene, as well as the Medical Examiner.

    ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) - A bill has been reintroduced in the State Senate for the 2025-2026 legislative session, which, if passed, would allow grocery stores to sell wine. Lawmakers in favor of the bill say this would allow for local wineries and distributors to expand and mass-produce their product statewide. In the justification, it details how this would allow for folks to get everything they need at the grocery store, without having to make an extra stop on the way home.

    ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — Derek Hagen, a former Dansville teacher, was sentenced Thursday morning on child porn charges. Hagen pleaded guilty nearly three years ago to possessing and producing child pornography. He was sentenced Thursday to 20 years of prison and 15 years of post-supervised release. Between January 2018 and July 2021, investigators said Hagen took pictures and filmed himself engaging in sexual contact with the victim.
