A new kind of craft studio will debut in Phillipsburg this weekend. An opening weekend party hosted at B. Crafty Studio will offer the public a first glimpse inside the community craft room located at 96 Sitgreaves St. on June 7 and 8. Opening weekend is designed to connect artists, craftspeople, and hobbyists alike, said owner Malia Borges. “This isn’t just a shop,” Borges said.

For the Love of Cupcakes has made the big jump from incubator bakehouse to brick-and-mortar cupcake castle and customers are scrambling to get inside. The homegrown Phillipsburg bakeshop company saw its first afternoon rush on Monday. Customers were still hurrying into the new storefront cafe at 35 Sitgreaves St., near Shappell Park to snag last batches of fresh-baked bread, cookies and artisanal cupcakes around noon on Tuesday.
