Sometimes, I feel a little bit guilty (embarrassed, even?) about how many smocked dresses I have, and how often I reach for them. Like, can’t I make a bit more effort? A smocked dress is, indeed, a little bit lazy. It is my equivalent to sweatpants. It is comfortable and breezy, and in many cases (not the sheer Dôen dressabove, lol), I can skip a bra, which is always a bonus in my book. The weather is getting warm, and work + life have both been moving faster than usual.

My happiest childhood memories involve playing in my grandmother’s jewelry box, making my own (often questionable) jewelry, and (always) piling on as many pieces as possible. Many of you know that my last 9-5 gig was at BaubleBar. I worked there from 2011-2015 and was their fourth hire! I ran their social media and influencer marketing. Start-up life can be grueling, but I loved the product and learned so much about jewelry.

I always say that great style does not need to cost a ton of money, and today’s round-up is proof of that. I gasped when I saw this raffia fish bag; it’s fun and a great price. The green piping is everything. I already have two fish purses (lol), so I am certainly not allowed another, but someone else, please get it! I spied these beaded necklaces on two girlfriends in Charleston (from Monkees, a local boutique) and love them.

For today’s paid letter, I am sharing (in extreme detail) exactly what I do to my skin. I’m going to be a little vulnerable and share that at the beginning of the year, I felt so extremely bad about how I looked. I’d gained weight, and just felt totally blah. Even though I’m really disciplined about my skincare routine, it felt like nothing I did made much of a difference. I felt like I looked old, tired, and puffy.
