    CHP Paint Co has selected the winner of their second Paint It Forward project. Last year they asked the community to submit nominations to give a local veteran a free external paint job, and this year they did the same, except for a teacher. Out of 81 nominations the winner was nominated 26 times by both current and former students. On Thursday morning, CHP surprised the recipient during a staff meeting at Alta Vista Elementary School. They will be painting Brandie's house later this summer.

    On Saturday the Beach Please parking lot will be transformed into a local music festival. TRANSCRIPT: "We've always operated with the idea that if you love a community they'll love you back, and so we do as much as we can, where we can, when we can," said Kester. Owner of Beach Please Amber Kester tells me that local artist Winct approached them about hosting The Mayday Parade, a festival celebrating local musicians and vendors.
