    COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — A man was detained early Sunday morning in the Short North neighborhood after a drive-by shootout, which prompted a Columbus police officer to open fire. Columbus police said a special duty officer just finished his shift near a bar in the neighborhood and then saw a shootout occur near East Hubbard Avenue and North Pearl Street just before 2:30 a.m.The shootout was between a man standing outside a parking garage and multiple occupants of a dark pickup truck.

    COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — More cases of the avian influenza, commonly known as bird flu, have been detected in Ohio in recent weeks. According to the United Nations, it has killed more than 300 million birds worldwide and one person in the U.S. Health officials still said the risk for the public is low right now but a professor at Ohio State’s College of Veterinary Medicine said the medical community has been scrambling to slow down the spread.
