COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — One person is dead and another is arrested after an alleged accidental shooting in east Columbus Thursday night. According to a Columbus police, the shooting was reported in the 4000 block of Carlton Avenue, in the Leawood neighborhood at approximately 8:23 p.m. Officers found 18-year-old Terrance Spellman suffering from a gunshot wound and he was taken to an area hospital in critical condition.

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — One person is dead and another injured after a shooting in northeast Columbus Wednesday night. According to a Columbus police, the shooting happened in the 2500 block of Mock Road at approximately 9:39 p.m. The shooting was reported in the Mock Park area. The victims, both women, got in a vehicle and drove nearly two miles northwest before they were found at the intersection of Minnesota Avenue and Joyce Avenue.

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — Ohio voters approved continuing to fund the state’s major infrastructure projects through a $2.5 billion bond issue on the primary election ballot Tuesday. Issue 2 will, through a state constitutional amendment, allow Ohio to issue bonds to help local governments pay for infrastructure projects, including roads and bridges, wastewater treatment plants, and more, via the State Capital Improvement Program.

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — Columbus residents have voted on which of three candidates will face off this November for a City Council seat. In unofficial results in the primary election, Jesse Vogel and Tiara Ross will meet again on November’s ballot to fill council’s District 7 seat after topping Kate Curry-Da-Souza on Tuesday. District 7 encompasses most of the city’s central neighborhoods and Downtown. All of the city’s residents, not just those residing in District 7, were able to vote on the race.

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — U.S. and Ohio flags will be flown at half-staff in Columbus and Hamilton County in memory of a Hamilton County Sheriff’s deputy killed in the line of duty late last week. Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine issued the order Sunday, stating the flags on all public buildings and grounds in Hamilton County, the Ohio Statehouse, the Vern Riffe Center, and the Rhodes State Office Tower will remain at half-staff following Sunday’s National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Service.
