Brandon Nelson, a 19-year JetBlue veteran who has been general counsel since 2018, will step down Aug. 5 and then serve as a senior adviser until Nov. 1, the Long Island-based low-fare airline said in a securities filing late Tuesday. JetBlue said Nelson’s successor will be Eileen McCarthy, who spent 14 years at the airline, rising to associate general counsel, before leaving in 2021 for the Hungarian software company Uipath, where she is senior vice president of legal.

Less than two years after a federal judge effectively wiped out thousands of lawsuits over Zantac, a legal showdown over the recalled heartburn medication is flaring up in state courts. On May 23, the first verdict in the nation over Zantac came out in Illinois, where jurors in Chicago’s Cook County Circuit Court sided with drug manufacturers GlaxoSmithKline and Boehringer Ingelheim. More trials are planned in Illinois, California and Pennsylvania against the same drug manufacturers.

Polsinelli expanded its corporate team by hiring Foley & Lardner partner Robert Sarfatis as a shareholder in Dallas, while also launching an office in Fort Worth by acquiring the four-lawyer Commercial Law Advisors, in significant Texas moves this week. The baby formula manufacturing company Perrigo has tapped attorneys from Arnold & Porter Kaye Scholer to defend against an antitrust class-action lawsuit. Perrigo is accused of having an “anticompetitive agreement” with Gerber to block any other competitor from entering the market of manufacturing and selling store-brand infant formula to U.S. retailers.
