HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- Jamar Marshall Jr. is ready to take his shot at the national championship in the 100-meter hurdles. Not that long ago, he wondered if he could run at all. "I didn't know what God had in store for me," Marshall told ABC13 recently. "What I did do is have a little bit of faith. And you know, prayed a little bit, talked to my family. And just believed in my coaches."Marshall's decision to transfer from the University of Houston didn't work out the way he planned.

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- Jarvis Anderson couldn't hear the cruel comments, but he knew some of the children he grew up with often excluded him. He knew how much that hurt, so Anderson's father offered words of wisdom and encouragement. "I know the kids aren't including you, and you're being bullied," his father told him. "You can't control what they do, but you can control how you feel."Anderson took those lessons to heart and pursued his passion for running track.

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- "We played a 'C game' probably offensively. We were four points away with two and a half (minutes) to go," Rockets head coach Ime Udoka said. That declaration from Udoka drives his team's mentality heading into Wednesday's must-win Game 2 at Toyota Center. The Rockets looked at their mistakes on tape and understood they played poorly in many areas against Golden State in the disappointing Game 1 loss. But Houston still had a chance to win.

CJ Stroud throwing again at #Texans mini camp. Looked great in 7 on 7. Maybe a little rusty at times in team drills. Late TD pass got a high 5 from DeMeco. Good day for #7.
