The Ohio Valley Conference school only recently jumped to Division 1 basketball in 2008, but Kelvin Sampson doesn't care about any of that. This year's UH team is the 20th team he's taken to the NCAA Tournament, and his rules for success never change. "We don't change. Do what we do," Sampson said.

Gadsden State Community College has established a scholarship to honor longtime employee Kathy Brown, who died on Feb. 3, 2025. The $500 Kathy Brown Memorial Scholarship will be awarded to a GSCC student majoring in office administration. Brown, who attended GSCC from 1995 to 1997, worked in the school’s public relations and marketing department from 1998 until her retirement in August 2024. Donations to the scholarship fund can be made through the GSCC Cardinal Foundation.
