The Boston Red Sox trading for Carlos Narváez this offseason was an afterthought, especially with the franchise pulling off a deal for Garrett Crochet and signing Alex Bregman in free agency. But the 26-year-old catcher has proven to be a key figure for the Red Sox so far this season. Narváez provides exceptional defense behind the plate, making whatever he does with his bat an added bonus. He has outperformed Connor Wong, who has been Boston’s primary catcher for the past two seasons.

The New England Patriots made the biggest financial investment in franchise history to Milton Williams this offseason. Williams spent a decade with the Patriots, as he joined the organization in 2016 as a scouting assistant for Bill Belichick.

Kristian Campbell got a jump on his major league career before fellow top Boston Red Sox prospects Roman Anthony and Marcelo Mayer. It’s been an eye-opening experience for Campbell, but one the 22-year-old Georgia Tech product, who was drafted by the Red Sox less than two years ago, has handled quite well. Campbell has struggled as of late, but was named the American League Rookie of the Month for March/April after hitting .301 with four home runs and 12 RBIs to go along with a .902 OPS.
